Venti

Venti Event

Inner Vitality // Dreams // Enthusiasm // Optimism // Generosity

These are 5 things which Jesus wants to restore in our lives (the Pope’s words, and not ours).

Venti, inspired by Christus Vivit paragraph 20, is this year’s opportunity to come together as one Church. It’s a time to be together and pray together; to learn, to talk, get to know each other and to celebrate. It’s an afternoon/evening event (we’ll be having some new priests ordained that morning!) and the programme is sure to keep you going.

The event is free of charge, but registration is required. We’ll also be providing dinner, which you can purchase with your registration (what’s a Maltese gathering without a BBQ?).

Date: 18th April, 2020

Time: 4pm – 10.30pm

Venue: St. Paul’s Missionary College, Rabat

Ages: 16+

Keynote by Fr. Anton D’Amato

Following the event’s theme, Fr. Anton will be speaking about Christus Vivit #20 and what it means to live in the spirit of the Resurrection.

Workshops

  • Faith and Politics: a panel discussion

Jesus calls us to be in the world but not of it, and this means being present in every area of daily life. This panel discussion seeks to explore how the Catholic can interact with and offer a different vision for politics.

  • Women in the Church: a panel discussion

This panel discussion aims to look at the role of the woman in the Church, both in the past and in the present.

  • Evangelisation in everyday life: a group sharing based session

How can we be vehicles of evangelization in our everyday lives? This workshop will be a group sharing based session, where people can come together, discuss, share their ideas and look at the Church’s teaching for inspiration.

  • Helping youth ministry remain innovative: a feedback session

This workshop will be one in which young people can give suggestions on how youth ministry can remain effective and true to its character. It aims to draw out which methodologies work and what areas the youth sector need growth..

  • How to deal with spiritual exhaustion: a talk which equips

Being young doesn’t make you immune to giving up & being exhausted. This workshop will consider the feeling of spiritual exhaustion and look into what to do with it.

📍 Getting there:

Catch a bus 🚌

St. Paul’s Missionary College is well connected on the bus route system. Here’s a link to its location on Google Maps to help you plan your journey https://goo.gl/maps/cnwnYE7gf43S5NHC7. (Bus numbers 50, 51, 53, 56, 109 & 182 are among those that pass nearby.)

Parking 🅿️

The parking inside the college will be used for activities during Venti, and so will be unavailable. We encourage you to carpool & suggest heading down towards Vjal il-Ħaddiem when looking for parking (since there are usually quite a few spots for parking there).
